  1. quote

    February 28, 2007 by shishnit

“What he offered, I didn’t value.  What I offered back, he also missed.  We were two people who loved each other, but we had such different ideas about how to express it. The other people we sought out were really just a way of making the connection, somewhere, that we couldn’t make with each other” – excerpt from the Anthology “The Honeymoon’s Over” Feb 2007  “The way we really were” – Joyce Maynard.

  3. last day before position change

    February 28, 2007 by shishnit

This is the last time I will drive this route.  This is the last time I will park my car here.  This is the last time I will report to this desk.  This is the last time I will get out of work at 5 p.m. while working for this company.  The last time I order coffee here, the last time I eat lunch here, the last time I see this group of people, the last time I clean off this desk surface, the last time….last…time….
And it’s ok.  It really feels freeing and as if I got my prayers answered.  Truly.  It’s simply about looking on the bright side.
This is the last time…and it’s really quite ok.

  4. the cutest flipper

    February 28, 2007 by shishnit

First he had his first birthday and his Mom bought him this uber cute t-shirt.

    First....

Then he got a piano for Christmas and told his Mom what he thought about piano lessons.

Then he got a piano for Christmas

And now….now he doesn’t look too keen on guitars does he?

    And now....

The cute thing is that he actually loves instruments and his Daddy is a professional guitar player for a living. The kid is loaded down with instruments, two great parents and lots of cute!!

  5. mri test results

    February 27, 2007 by shishnit

Today the doctor’s office called.  My awesome doctor’s nurse assistant called to be precise.  She advised me of the following verbatim.

“I have your MRI test results back, I’m going to read them to you in laymen’s terms as the doctor has them written on the folder, okay?”

    “yes that’s fine.”

“Your vagina is absolutely normal.  Your cervix is too.  Your fallopian tubes are normal.  You are missing your right ovary as it has been previously removed surgically.  Your left ovary is polycystic.  Do you have any questions?”

“Yes.  So now I just continue on the medication and come in in May?”

    “yes”

    “thank you”

    “have a nice day!”

Then I fell into a mass of giggles…..I mean how often does someone call you and tell you that your vagina is “absolutely” normal?  I also think it was a massive relief.  MASSIVE.
