been reading?

One thing I’ve been lacking in the writing area on my blog about is “reading”.  I’ve been reading books like crazy even though I have all of these other things going on.  I always find a way to read no matter what.  It’s my escape, my stress relief, my enjoyment, my time out.  I do not tend to watch a ton of TV through the week.  I come home from work, grab dinner and usually spend at least an hour reading before bed.  I also try to work my school schedule and assignments so that I can still have a life.  I work ahead so I never feel guilty about my reading habit.

Lately I’ve read the following books….this would be over the last month.

The Blue Bistro

When I'm not myself

You're not you

The Feasting Season

The Dogs of Babel

White Oleander

I also read A father’s affair by Karel Van Loon that I checked out from the library.  Every one of these books was in the “excellent” category…..save for maybe “When I’m not myself”.  That one was a bit choppy and that was irritating.  The story didn’t have a good flow or ease.  It was jumpy and not in a good way.  Everything else gets my two thumbs up.

White Oleander was a REQUIRED reading for one of my upper division college courses. We had to aanalyze EVERYTHING but I really liked it. That HAD to be about 7 years ago? I’ve read about 22 books this summer which is UNHEARD of for me. I read while I’m on the treadmill or lounging at the pool. I guess I’ve done A LOT of that this summer. hehehehehe. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR A-
