politics and religion - two things NOT to talk about in mixed company
I’m currently taking a political course being taught by a House rep from a state not my own. It’s like getting a firsthand look into the government system via him. He shared with us that he makes $31,000 as a House Representative. It certainly doesn’t pay to try to fight for new laws. This class is changing me….it is a good feeling when education changes you. It’s even a more wonderful thing to learn from someone that is “doing” not just “teaching” or reading from a textbook.
Call me cynical tonight but the only reason he shared what he makes with a class of students is because as a House Representative it is public knowledge if one wanted to go looking for it anyway I believe.
Sorry for being a downer tonight. I am glad you are enjoying the class regardless of what he makes! I am blaming my cynicysm on the full moon tonight.
